  • 1- Q: Who is Villas of Distinction? Back to top
  • A : We are one of the most experienced and respected companies in the Vacation Villa Rental field. VILLAS OF DISTINCTION has been a leader in the industry since 1989. We are perhaps the only Villa Rental specialist that is actually Licensed by the Secretary of State as a Real Estate Broker.

Villas of Distinction uses the an advanced computer system, cross-referencing the databases of several of it's European and Caribbean partners; insuring the absolute best and most comprehensive selection of rental properties on the market.

  • 2- Q: Are the rates per person or for the entire villa? Back to top
  • A : Our rates are for the entire villa, but there can be no parties, weddings or large gatherings allowed in the villas without written permission. Villas may not be occupied by more guests than specified in the rental contract. Rates are based on occupancy and additional fees may apply.
  • 3- Q: What is the required length of stay? Back to top
  • A : Normally a 7 night stay is required. Many villas do accept shorter stays, especially if it is close to your departure date. During the Christmas and New Years Holiday period, most villas require a minimum of 14 nights.
  • 4- Q: Does a weekly rental always start on the same day each week? Back to top
  • A : In the Caribbean and Mexico, you can arrive on any day of the week, as long as the villa is available. In Europe, especially France and Italy, the normal arrival and departure day is Saturday.
  • 5- Q: When is In Season and Off Season? Back to top
  • A : In the Caribbean, 'In Season' (also known as Winter and High Season) begins in mid-December and lasts until mid-April. The lower rates of 'Off Season' (Summer or Low Season) take effect until mid-December. Your villa consultant will reconfirm this upon your inquiry, as there are a few exceptions. In Europe the opposite is true, with July and August being "peak" season.
  • 6- Q: Do we have to pay full rent if we book a home with more bedrooms then we need? Back to top
  • A : Not necessarily. Many villas can be rented at a reduced rate when you do not use all the bedrooms. This is noted on the villa rate listings on this site.
  • 7- Q: If we do not book all the bedrooms in a villa will someone else (i.e. strangers) be using those bedrooms and sharing the house? Back to top
  • A : Absolutely not. You are renting the entire villa and you never have to share a villa with anyone other than those in your party.
  • 8- Q: Is a villa a good idea for a honeymoon? Back to top
  • A : It's an exceptional idea and a great value. Villas are private and spacious and many have Hot Tubs or Jacuzzis. Many of our listings offer reduced rates for 2 persons or Honeymooners.
  • 9- Q: Aren't villas more expensive than a hotel? Back to top
  • A : As you explore the villas we represent you'll see that many villas are often much less than prices at hotels of the same quality standard. When you factor in all the benefits and amenities of a private villa, you'll quickly realize that villas offer a superb value. (Remember to compare rates per room/ per night).
  • 10- Q: Which Island is the best? Back to top
  • A : There is no one correct answer to that question. Each island is different and unique. Villas of Distinction can match your preferences to the perfect island. More importantly we'll make sure your rental villa on that island will meet or exceed your expectations and requirements.
  • 11- Q: Do all of your villas include staff personnel? Back to top
  • A : This and other considerations vary from island to island. If you are looking for cook service, Barbados, Jamaica, Mustique and St. Lucia have homes staffed with cooks. Cook service can be arranged at additional cost at most of our other destinations. Maid service is included in most island destinations but please confirm this with your villa consultant.
  • 12- Q: What is your deposit and cancellation policy? Back to top
  • A : For most of the islands the following standard practices apply: A 50% deposit is required within 3 days to hold a reservation. Reservations are not considered firm until the deposit is received. A confirmation letter is sent to you upon receipt of the deposit. The balance of your payment is due 90 days prior to your arrival date. In general, for written cancellations received outside the 90 days of arrival - 35% of gross rental price is retained. For cancellations inside the 90 days of arrival the entire deposit is forfeited. Please check at point of booking. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
  • 13- Q: Are children welcome in all the rentals. Back to top
  • A : There are a few homes that have restrictions. More importantly we recommend you let us make a few suggestions. Certain homes are more child-friendly than others in terms of safety and bedding considerations.
