We Just Got Back from Silversands Villas, Grenada

Our team recently enjoyed a stay at Silversands Villas in Grenada, and we're excited to share their experiences. From the beachfront property to amenities and excursions, discover the charm of Grenada, the activities that await you, and the beautiful villas that you might call home.

How do you get to Grenada?

From the United States, the only direct flights to Grenada are from Miami or New York. The Maurice Bishop International Airport is small, and fortunately, we landed before a few other flights. The line for passport control got long quickly, so a fast-track option is recommended.

What were your first impressions upon arriving?

At the airport, we were greeted by the warm and hospitable staff of Silversands Grenada. A short 10-minute ride later, in a Tesla, we arrived at the entrance of Silversands Grenada, where we were instantly greeted by the breathtaking beauty that surrounded us, especially their infinity pool, which happens to be the longest in the Caribbean and it appears to extend into the sea!  There are cabanas along the pool deck and a restaurant.  The property has very modern and clean lines and is the newest villa/hotel on the island – opened in 2018.  The property faces west so the sunsets are amazing!

What was your stay at Silversands like?

The commitment to excellence at Silversands Grenada Villas is truly remarkable. The staff and the service at the villa were outstanding, starting with a welcome drink upon arrival.  During our entire stay, the staff was friendly and always remembered our names. Every aspect of our stay was catered to, with a dedicated team of staff providing personalized service and meeting our every need. From the moment we arrived until the time of departure, we felt pampered and attended to, ensuring a truly unforgettable experience.

Each villa has its own private infinity pool, where we could relax and unwind. The spacious outdoor area provides the perfect setting for dining, enjoying the tropical weather, stunning sunsets, and panoramic ocean views. The villa we stayed in consisted of four bedrooms - two facing the beach and two positioned towards the rear. While the latter two rooms don't offer direct beach views, they are equipped with their own jacuzzi, adding a touch of luxury to the experience. Silversands also offers a wide range of exclusive amenities that guaranteed a memorable stay. The property includes a rum and cigar tasting room, a spa, a fitness center, and 2 restaurants.

Where is Silversands located?

The property is on Grand Anse Beach. While not technically a private beach, it feels almost private as very few outside guests passed along the beach. It is a swimmable beach, and there were security guards on the beach at each end of the property.

Tell us about the food.

Grenada is known as the Spice Island, so the food options are excellent!  Local spices include nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, ginger, and cocoa. Meat and fish are popular, and the national dish is called Oildown. It is a flavorful stew made with a variety of ingredients that may include breadfruit, salted meat, vegetables, meat, or fish. It is cooked in coconut milk broth that is infused with spices. Silversands Grenada's dining venues offer a delightful fusion of international flavors and authentic Grenadian cuisine, such as the aforementioned Oildown and salt fish. Whether indulging in seafood dishes at the beachfront Grenadian Grill or savoring gourmet delights at Asiatique, each dining experience at Silversands Grenada is accompanied by exceptional service and breathtaking views.

What did you do for fun in Grenada?

We took a half-day tour of the island led by a local who seemed to know everyone on the island.  We saw a fort with amazing views, stopped by a spice shop and a waterfall, and even fed monkeys. We also took a boat ride and snorkeled on a boat called the BLADE, which can be arranged by the villa. The BLADE Boat Trip is a thrilling excursion that takes guests on a high-speed adventure, showcasing the beauty of Grenada. The guides led us to snorkeling spots, where you will see diverse marine life and the amazing underwater sculpture park. As the day neared its end, the boat trip treated us to a breathtaking sunset cruise along Grenada's coast.

Another standout experience is the world-class spa at Silversands, where highly skilled therapists delivered exceptional treatments that left us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Their unique techniques and attention to detail made for an extraordinary spa experience.

There are also plenty more excursions to enjoy such as kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, scuba diving, hiking, and much more.

What advice would you give to a traveler visiting Grenada for the first time?

Silversands can arrange transportation as it is not recommended that guests rent a car.  Driving is on the left side of the road and the island is hilly. There are local services similar to Uber called Haylup and Carib Eats.  The island is warm/hot all year and rainy season is from approximately July to November.  Cruise ships arrive from approximately December to April. The currency is the East Caribbean Dollar. US dollars are widely accepted.
